What is the Induction Heating used in Hotaru?

Hotaru combines Induction Heating (IH) with its UMAI advanced fuzzy logic processor to provide precise control over the cooking process and consistently excellent rice.

What Is Induction Heating?

Induction Heating (IH) works by using a magnetic field to generate heat directly within the inner cooking bowl.

Inside Hotaru are induction coils that generate a rapidly changing magnetic field when the cooker is switched on. The specially designed inner bowl responds to this magnetic field and generates heat itself, rather than relying solely on a conventional heating element underneath the bowl.

This means that the inner cooking bowl effectively becomes the heat source.

The IH system can apply heat rapidly and make very fine adjustments throughout the cooking cycle, providing responsive temperature control from high heat through to more precise lower-temperature adjustments.
