I accidentally put rice into the rice cooker without the inner bowl in place
Don't worry, accidents happen! If rice grains have fallen inside the main casing and gotten underneath the heating element, there is a limit to how much you can physically remove, but there are a few safe steps you can take.
Safe Steps to Remove Spilled Rice:
Tip it upside down: First, ensure your rice cooker is unplugged. Remove the inner bowl and open the lid. Gently turn the entire rice cooker upside down and lightly shake it to see if the loose grains will fall out.
Use a vacuum: If shaking doesn't work, we highly recommend using a handheld vacuum cleaner or the crevice attachment on a standard vacuum hose. Carefully hover it over the heating element to try and suction out any trapped grains.
What if some grains are still stuck? If you have tried the steps above and some grains remain inside, there isn't much else you can do—but try not to worry. We have had a few customers experience this exact same issue, and their rice cookers have continued to work perfectly fine.
⚠️ Important Warning: Do Not Disassemble Please do not attempt to unscrew, open, or take apart the rice cooker casing to retrieve the lost grains. Our rice cookers must be disassembled in a highly specific way by trained technicians. Attempting to open the unit yourself will permanently invalidate your warranty and will likely cause irreversible damage to the internal electronics.
