Can I use a different power cord with my rice cooker?
All of our rice cookers are supplied with the correct power cord and plug for the market in which they are sold.
UK models – supplied with a UK 3-pin plug.
EU models – supplied with an EU 2-pin Schuko plug.
The power cord on our rice cookers is detachable, which means it can be replaced if necessary. If you need to replace the original cord, it is important to use a suitable replacement with the correct electrical rating.
For UK and EU models, we recommend using a replacement power cord rated at 13A, 250V or higher and with the appropriate connector for the rice cooker. Using an incorrectly rated or unsuitable cable could result in overheating, malfunction or a potential safety hazard.
Using Adapters and Extension Leads
Where possible, we recommend plugging the rice cooker directly into a suitable wall socket rather than using plug adapters, multi-way adapters or extension leads.
If an extension lead or adapter must be used, make sure that it is of high quality and has a suitable current and voltage rating for the rice cooker, with a rating at least equal to that of the recommended power cord. Do not overload the adapter or extension lead with other high-power appliances.
For safety, always check that the replacement cord, adapter or extension lead is properly rated and compatible before using it with your rice cooker. If you are unsure, please contact us for advice before connecting the appliance.
