The rice cooker doesn’t cook
It is very rare for our rice cookers to experience a complete loss of power or heating. If the rice cooker does not appear to turn on, heat up or respond when you try to start a cooking cycle, please work through the following checks before contacting us.
Check that the rice cooker is plugged in. This may sound obvious, but please make sure the plug is fully inserted into the power socket.
Check the power cord connection at the rice cooker. Make sure the power cord is pushed firmly and fully into the unit. Even a small amount of the connector not making proper contact can prevent the rice cooker from operating correctly.
Check whether KEEP WARM is active. If the rice cooker is already in KEEP WARM mode, press RESET/CANCEL to exit the function and then select your desired cooking programme and press START/COOK.
Check the fuse or power cord, where applicable. If your country uses fused plugs, try replacing the fuse with a known-good fuse of the correct rating. If possible, you can also try another compatible power cable to rule out a problem with the cable.
Check that the PRESET/TIMER function is not active. If a preset timer has been selected, the rice cooker may be waiting for the programmed cooking time rather than starting immediately. Press CANCEL to clear the preset and then select your cooking function again.
If you have worked through all of the above checks and the rice cooker is still not turning on, heating or responding, please contact us so that we can help troubleshoot the problem further.
When contacting us, please let us know what happens when you plug the cooker in and press the controls, including whether any display, lights, sounds or error messages appear. This information will help us diagnose the issue more quickly.
