I'm in Ireland, why do you ship an EU schuko plug with my electrical item?
We operate separate UK and EU websites because we maintain separate stock and warehousing operations for each market.
Our UK warehouse holds stock specifically for customers in the UK, while our Netherlands warehouse holds stock for customers throughout the EU, including Ireland.
Why Do I Need to Order From the EU Website?
Following Brexit, we no longer ship our EU orders from the UK. Orders destined for EU countries must be placed through our EU website and are dispatched from our Netherlands warehouse.
This also means that you cannot place an order through our UK website for delivery to Ireland. Customers in Ireland and other EU countries should order through the relevant EU website so that the order is fulfilled from our Netherlands operation.
Why Can't You Simply Add a UK Power Cord?
We sometimes get asked why we cannot simply add a UK power cord to an order being shipped from our Netherlands warehouse.
The reason is that we cannot simply substitute or add electrical components to products in this way. The products supplied to each market are configured and certified for their intended market, and electrical safety and compliance requirements must be maintained.
For this reason, we cannot simply add a UK power cord to an EU-market order.
What If I Need a Replacement Power Cord?
The power cord used with our rice cookers (with the exception of Oyu) is detachable and easily replaceable.
It uses a common IEC-style connector similar to the power cables used with many kettles and computer monitors, making replacement straightforward if required.
Customers ordering from Ireland will also see specific plug and power-cord information or warnings during the checkout process, so please make sure you review these before completing your order.
If you are ordering from the EU, including Ireland, always use our EU website to ensure that your order is fulfilled from the correct warehouse with the appropriate market configuration.
