My rice cooker is dead and will not power on. What do I do?

It is extremely rare for a Yum Asia product to experience a complete power failure, and our product fault rate is well below the industry average. However, if your rice cooker does not appear to power on, there are several simple checks you can carry out before contacting us.

Please work through the following steps:

1. Check the power cord
Make sure the power cord is firmly and securely connected to the rice cooker and fully inserted into the wall socket.

2. Try another compatible power cord
If your model uses a detachable power cord, try another suitable power cord, such as one from another appliance with the same connector. This can help determine whether the issue is with the cooker or the power cord.

3. Check the fuse
If your plug contains a replaceable fuse, check the fuse and replace it if necessary with the correct type and rating specified for the appliance.

4. Listen for a beep
When the cooker is connected to the power supply for the first time, does it make a beep or other indication that power has been received? This can help establish whether the cooker is receiving power.

5. Try the CANCEL button
Press and hold the CANCEL button for several seconds to see whether this resets or activates the cooker.

If you have tried all of the above and the display remains completely blank or the cooker still does not power on, please contact us for further assistance. We can then help you troubleshoot the issue further and determine the appropriate next steps.
