How Does Bamboo's Induction Heating (IH) Technology Work?

Bamboo combines Induction Heating (IH) with UMAI advanced fuzzy logic technology to provide precise control over the cooking process and consistently excellent rice.

These two technologies work together: IH provides the heat, while the UMAI fuzzy logic processor controls how that heat is applied throughout the cooking cycle.

What Is Induction Heating?

Induction Heating (IH) uses a magnetic field to generate heat directly within the inner cooking bowl.

Inside Bamboo are induction coils that create a magnetic field when the cooker is activated. The specially designed inner bowl responds to this magnetic field and generates heat itself.

Unlike a conventional rice cooker, where a heating element heats the bowl from underneath, the inner cooking bowl itself becomes the heat source.

This allows Bamboo to apply heat rapidly and make fine adjustments to the temperature throughout the cooking process.

More Even and Precise Cooking

Because the heat is generated directly within the inner bowl, IH can provide more even heat distribution and highly responsive temperature control.

This helps Bamboo to:

Rather than simply switching the heating system on and off according to a predetermined temperature, the processor continuously receives information from the cooker’s thermal sensors.

It can then make small adjustments to:

  • Temperature

  • Cooking time

  • Heating intensity

  • The progression of the cooking cycle

This means Bamboo can respond to the actual conditions inside the cooking bowl rather than following one completely fixed cooking pattern.

IH + Fuzzy Logic

The real advantage comes from combining these two technologies.

IH provides rapid, precise heat directly through the cooking bowl, while UMAI fuzzy logic determines how that heat should be controlled.

For example, if the thermal sensor detects that conditions inside the bowl differ from what the cooking programme expects, the fuzzy logic processor can make adjustments to the temperature and cooking time.

This creates a much more sophisticated cooking process than simply turning a heater on and off.

The UMAI fuzzy logic system also allows Bamboo to have dedicated programmes for different types of rice and foods, including:
