What is the Fuji inner bowl made from?
Through our many years of selling and supporting Zojirushi rice cookers, we noticed that the vast majority of rice cookers available in the UK, Europe and USA used Teflon or similar non-stick coatings on their inner cooking bowls.
After listening to customer feedback and considering the materials we wanted to use in our own premium rice cookers, we decided to take a different approach.
We developed the Joubu inner bowl, featuring a durable 3mm-thick ceramic coating designed to provide a hard-wearing cooking surface while offering an alternative to conventional PTFE-based non-stick coatings.
What Is the Joubu Bowl?
Joubu is the name we give to this premium ceramic-coated inner bowl.
It has been designed with several features intended to improve both cooking performance and everyday usability:
3mm-thick ceramic coating
BPA-free
PTFE-free
PFAS-free, including PFOA and PFOS
Hard-wearing cooking surface
Special honeycomb structure to help distribute heat evenly
Silk-printed rice measurement lines for durability and easy reading
Designed for Even Heat Distribution
The Joubu bowl incorporates a special honeycomb surface structure designed to help disperse heat more evenly across the cooking surface.
Even heat distribution is particularly important when cooking rice because it helps reduce the likelihood of localised hot spots and promotes more consistent cooking throughout the bowl.
Durable, Easy-to-Read Measurement Lines
We've also paid attention to the small details.
Rather than stamping the rice measurement lines into the bowl, the Joubu bowl uses silk-printed measurement markings.
This provides clearly visible measurement lines that are designed to be durable and easy to read, including in lower-light kitchen environments.
Accurate measurement is an important part of achieving consistent rice-cooking results, so making the bowl markings easy to see and use was an important consideration in its design.
A Different Approach to Non-Stick Bowls
The Joubu bowl was developed in response to customer feedback and our desire to provide a premium ceramic-coated alternative to conventional non-stick inner bowls.
With its 3mm ceramic coating, hard-wearing construction, heat-distributing honeycomb structure and clearly marked measurement lines, Joubu is designed to combine cooking performance, durability and ease of use.
It's another example of how we've taken the experience gained from years of selling rice cookers and used it to develop the features we believe customers actually want in a premium rice cooker.
