Our premium rice cookers are designed to do much more than simply cook rice.

While great-tasting rice is always at the heart of what we do, we have carefully selected additional multicooking functions for our premium models based on customer feedback, extensive testing and, importantly, how well each function works with our rice cookers' closed, multi-phase cooking technology.

We don't simply add cooking functions because they sound impressive on a specification sheet. Every additional function has to earn its place.

Carefully Selected, Not Randomly Added

Our rice cookers use controlled cooking cycles that manage temperature, time, moisture and heat throughout the cooking process. Because the cooking chamber is enclosed, heat and moisture are retained in a way that makes the cookers particularly effective for many other types of food.

Depending on the model, you may find functions such as:

• Porridge

• Soup

• Steam

• Slow Cook

• Cake

• Yoghurt

• Other specialist cooking functions

Each function is selected specifically for the model on which it appears.

Why Our Cake Function Works So Well

For example, our CAKE function, available on selected models, takes advantage of the enclosed cooking environment.

The cooker is able to retain moisture throughout the cooking process, while its carefully controlled heat helps prevent the food from burning. This creates an excellent environment for baking a variety of cakes and desserts.

The cake function is particularly well suited to recipes such as:

• Cheesecake

• Brownies

• Banana cake

• Sponge cake

The combination of controlled heat, retained moisture and the enclosed cooking chamber can produce moist, evenly cooked results without the excessive direct heat that can sometimes dry out or burn delicate cakes.

Why Do Different Models Have Different Functions?

You may notice that not every Yum Asia rice cooker has exactly the same selection of add-on functions.

This is deliberate.

When we add a particular function to a model, it means that we have tested it extensively on that specific cooker and are confident that it performs well with its particular heating and cooking system.

If a function isn't available on a particular model, it is often because our testing showed that it didn't perform to the standard we expect from a Yum Asia appliance.

We would rather offer a smaller number of excellent, properly tested functions than provide a long list of functions that don't work particularly well.

A Versatile Kitchen Appliance

Depending on the model, your Yum Asia premium rice cooker can therefore be used for far more than rice. You can prepare porridge, soups, slow-cooked meals, steamed foods, yoghurt and cakes, alongside your everyday rice dishes.

The additional functions are designed to complement the rice cooker rather than distract from its primary purpose.
