My Fuji rice cooker is stuck on keep warm or cooking and won't turn off. What do I do?

All of our rice cookers feature a built-in memory function to help protect the cooking programme in the event of a temporary power interruption.

This means that if there is a power cut, or the cooker temporarily loses power, it may retain information about its previous operating state.

Why Can This Happen?

If you unplug the rice cooker while it is cooking or while the Keep Warm function is operating, without first cancelling the programme, the cooker may retain its previous status in its memory.

When power is restored, this can sometimes make the cooker appear as though it isn't responding normally or prevent you from starting a new programme immediately.

How to Reset It

The solution is usually very simple:

Press and hold the CANCEL button for several seconds to clear the previous programme.

On some models, a normal press of the CANCEL button will be sufficient.

Once the previous programme has been cancelled, you should then be able to select a new cooking function and operate the rice cooker normally.
