My Bamboo rice cooker is not starting when I press START or stopping when I press CANCEL
If your cooker does not appear to start or stop when you press the controls, don't worry. This is usually because the touch-sensitive controls require a deliberate long press to prevent accidental operation.
COOKER NOT STARTING
First, make sure you are pressing and holding the START button, rather than simply tapping it.
The cooker requires you to hold your finger on the START button for at least 3 seconds before the cooking programme will begin.
This is an intentional safety feature. Because the control panel is touch-sensitive, a short press or accidental contact while cleaning or brushing against the panel could otherwise activate the cooker unintentionally.
To start cooking:
Select your desired cooking programme.
Place your finger on the START button.
Continue holding for at least 3 seconds.
The cooker will then begin the selected cooking cycle.
COOKER WILL NOT STOP
The CANCEL button works in the same way.
To stop an active cooking programme, you need to press and hold the CANCEL button rather than simply tapping it.
To stop cooking:
Place your finger on the CANCEL button.
Press and hold the button.
Continue holding until the cooker cancels the cooking cycle.
Why Does It Require a Long Press?
The long-press operation is intentional and helps prevent the cooker from being accidentally switched on or stopped by an unintended touch.
So, if the cooker doesn't respond to a quick press of START or CANCEL, simply press and hold the relevant button for at least 3 seconds.
