I don't understand the Fuji capacity
Fuji has three different capacity measurements, depending on whether you are talking about its rice-cooking capacity or its capacity when being used as a multi-cooker.
Fuji is a 1.0-litre, 5-cup rice cooker with a 1.5-litre multi-cooking capacity.
1.0 Litre / 5-Cup Rice Cooking Capacity
Rice cooker capacity is normally expressed in litres or rice cooker cups.
Fuji has a maximum rice-cooking capacity of:
5 cups of uncooked white rice
3 cups of uncooked brown rice
Our rice cooker measuring cup is based on 180ml, which is the standard rice cooker cup size we use.
Therefore:
1 cup of uncooked rice = 180ml / approximately 180g
5 cups of uncooked white rice = 900ml / approximately 0.90kg
3 cups of uncooked brown rice = 540ml / approximately 540g
The difference between the white and brown rice capacities is intentional. Brown rice requires more water and expands differently during cooking, so additional space is required inside the bowl.
1.5-Litre Multi-Cooking Capacity
The 1.5-litre capacity refers specifically to Fuji's use as a multi-cooker, rather than its rice-cooking capacity.
When using functions such as slow cooking, soup or other multi-cooking programmes, the inner bowl can hold a maximum of 1.5 litres of liquid.
It's therefore important to distinguish between the two capacities:
Rice cooking:
1.0 litre / 5 cups white rice / 3 cups brown rice
Multi-cooking:
1.5 litres maximum liquid capacity
These measurements refer to different uses of the same inner bowl and should not be confused with one another.
