How is the Hotaru inner bowl heated?

Hotaru uses Induction Heating (IH) technology, which provides a more direct and evenly distributed method of heating compared with conventional rice cookers.

Inside the cooker are induction coils that generate a magnetic field. When the specially designed spherical inner bowl is placed inside the cooker and the IH system is activated, the magnetic field causes the bowl itself to generate heat.
