How close can Hotaru be to an induction hob?
Keep Hotaru Away from Induction Hobs
Because Hotaru is an Induction Heating (IH) rice cooker, it uses an internal magnetic induction coil to generate heat in the inner cooking bowl.
For this reason, Hotaru should not be placed close to an induction hob. An induction hob also generates a magnetic field, and positioning the two induction appliances too close together can cause them to interfere with one another.
Maintain a Minimum Distance of 80cm
We recommend keeping Hotaru at least 80cm away from any induction hob.
This minimum distance should be maintained both when Hotaru is being used and when it is being stored.
Do not place Hotaru directly beside, underneath or immediately above an induction hob, even when the hob is switched off.
Why Is This Important?
Both appliances use induction coils and magnetic fields as part of their operation. If they are positioned too close together, there is a risk of electromagnetic interference affecting the operation of either appliance.
In extreme circumstances, this could potentially result in:
The rice cooker malfunctioning
The induction hob malfunctioning
Damage to one or both appliances
For this reason, the 80cm minimum separation distance should always be observed.
In short: if you have an induction hob in your kitchen, make sure Hotaru is positioned at least 80cm away from it, both during use and when stored.
