Why do I get an E0 error during cooking?

If your Kotori displays an E0 error message, this almost always indicates that the metal inner bowl is not sitting fully down inside the outer body of the cooker.
When the inner bowl is not correctly positioned, there may not be sufficient contact between the bottom of the metal bowl and the heat sensor underneath it. Kotori needs this contact to accurately detect the temperature of the bowl and control the cooking process.
How to Fix the E0 Error
First, remove the inner bowl and then place it back into the cooker, making sure it is fully and correctly seated inside the outer body.
The metal inner bowl needs to be pushed fully down into position so that it makes proper contact with the heat sensor underneath.
When correctly positioned, there should be a noticeable lip between the metal inner bowl and the surrounding outer thermopolymer body.

Check the Following
Before using Kotori again, make sure:
The inner bowl is fully pushed down into the cooker.
The underside of the bowl is clean and dry.
There is no food, debris or other material preventing the bowl from sitting correctly.
The bowl is sitting flat and centrally positioned.
The bottom of the bowl can make proper contact with the heat sensor.
Once the bowl is correctly positioned, try the cooking programme again.
Could the Type of Rice Cause an E0 Error?
If the E0 error continues to appear, it is also worth checking what type of rice you are using.
We recommend avoiding quick-cook, easy-cook or similarly processed rice when using a fuzzy logic rice cooker such as Kotori.
These types of rice can have a different moisture content and physical characteristics from conventional uncooked rice. This can affect the weight and behaviour of the rice inside the bowl, which can subsequently affect how Kotori's cooking system operates.
Try a Slightly Larger Quantity of Rice
If you are already using a suitable type of rice and the bowl is correctly positioned, try cooking a slightly larger quantity of rice.
If increasing the quantity of rice causes the E0 error to disappear, this can indicate that the particular rice being used has characteristics that are not ideal for Kotori's fuzzy logic cooking system.
This can be particularly relevant when cooking very small quantities or using processed/quick-cook rice.
Why Does Kotori Need the Bowl to Be Positioned Correctly?
Kotori uses intelligent cooking technology that relies on accurate temperature sensing.
The heat sensor underneath the inner bowl needs to be able to detect the temperature of the bowl correctly. If the bowl is not fully seated, the contact between the bowl and sensor may be insufficient, resulting in an E0 error.

Check that the underside is clean and dry.
Replace the bowl and push it fully down into the outer body.
Check that the bowl is sitting correctly and that the expected lip is visible.
Try again using a standard, suitable type of uncooked rice.
