Where is Kumo made?

Kumo is manufactured and assembled in dedicated specialist factories in China that also produce rice cookers for a number of well-known premium brands, including Cuckoo, Cuchen, Panasonic and Tiger.

We selected our manufacturing partners carefully, based on their experience, manufacturing capabilities and ability to meet the high standards we require for Yum Asia products.

International Components and Manufacturing

Although Kumo is assembled in China, its components are sourced internationally. Some parts used in our products come from Japan, South Korea and Germany, reflecting the specialist expertise available in different manufacturing regions.

This is actually very common in modern appliance manufacturing.

It is relatively unusual today for a sophisticated electrical appliance to be designed, manufactured, assembled and have every individual component produced in a single country. Modern products often involve an international supply chain, with specialist components sourced from different countries and then brought together for final assembly.

For example, specialist components such as electronic displays, heating components, control systems and inner bowls may be produced in countries with particular expertise in those areas, before being assembled into the finished appliance.

Therefore, the fact that Kumo is assembled in China does not mean that every component originates from China.

High Manufacturing Standards

Our manufacturing facilities operate comprehensive quality control and manufacturing procedures designed to ensure that Kumo meets our required standards.

We don't simply rely on the factory's own quality-control processes. Our manufacturing and quality procedures have also been independently inspected, providing additional oversight of the standards and processes used to produce our appliances.

Quality control is considered throughout the manufacturing process, from incoming components and assembly through to testing and final inspection.

Our aim is simple: every Kumo should leave the factory ready to provide reliable performance in everyday use.

Regional Safety and Quality Assurance

Because Kumo is sold across different markets, the relevant models are manufactured and supplied to meet the applicable requirements for their intended region.

Kumo's international supply chain is representative of how many modern electrical appliances are manufactured.

Designed and specified by Yum Asia → specialist components sourced internationally → assembled in a dedicated specialist factory → quality controlled and tested → supplied for the appropriate regional market.

What matters is not simply where an appliance is assembled, but the quality of its components, the standards of the manufacturing facility, the quality-control procedures applied and the testing and certification carried out before the product reaches the customer.
