The display on my Tsuki is quite dim

If the Tsuki display doesn't appear as bright as it looks in the photographs or videos on our website, this is most likely due to the lighting conditions in your kitchen.

Tsuki uses a hidden-style display, which gives the cooker its clean and minimalist appearance. However, like all displays of this type, its visibility can be affected by the amount and direction of ambient light in the room.

Why Does the Display Look Different in My Kitchen?

We extensively tested Tsuki's display in a variety of lighting conditions, including:

• Daylight at different times of the day

• Brightly lit kitchens

• Direct sunlight

• Artificial lighting

• Kitchens at night

• Different ambient-light levels

During our testing, we were able to clearly see the display across its available settings.

However, individual kitchen environments can vary considerably. In particularly bright kitchens, especially where strong daylight or direct sunlight falls onto the display, the contrast can be reduced and the display may appear less bright than it does under normal lighting conditions.

This isn't normally an indication of a fault with the rice cooker.

The Hidden Display Design

The reduced visibility in very bright conditions is an inherent compromise of the hidden-display design.

When the display is not illuminated, it is designed to blend discreetly into the surface of the cooker. When activated, the illuminated characters appear through the front panel.

This creates the sleek, minimalist appearance that is part of Tsuki's design, but it can also mean that the display doesn't have the same visibility characteristics as a conventional, permanently visible LCD or LED screen.

Why Can't I Increase the Brightness?

Tsuki's display brightness is preset and cannot be manually adjusted.

This was a deliberate design decision. Tsuki is an exceptionally compact rice cooker and therefore has a small display area. The characters need to remain at a practical size within this limited space, while the display brightness is calibrated as part of the overall design.

We have therefore balanced display size, brightness, readability and the hidden-display aesthetic within the physical constraints of such a small appliance.

What You Can Expect

Under normal indoor kitchen lighting, the Tsuki display should be clearly visible.

However, in very bright kitchens or direct sunlight, the display may appear less prominent than it does in our product photography or videos.

The photographs and videos on our website were taken in a normal kitchen environment and show the display under the lighting conditions present at the time of photography.
