How is the Panda inner bowl heated?

Panda uses a conventional heating element positioned at the bottom of the rice cooker. However, Panda is far more sophisticated than a basic conventional rice cooker because it also incorporates 3D heating technology.

Rather than relying solely on heat coming from underneath the inner bowl, Panda's 3D heating system is designed to distribute heat around and above the bowl, creating a more even cooking environment.

How 3D Heating Works

The heating element at the base of Panda generates the primary cooking heat. This heat is then dispersed around the inner bowl through a reflective coating on the inside of the cooking chamber.

At the same time, Panda's lid also provides heat downwards into the inner bowl.

This means that heat is delivered from multiple directions:

Bottom → Around the bowl → Down from the lid

The result is a more balanced distribution of heat throughout the cooking chamber, rather than concentrating the majority of the heat at the bottom of the bowl.

More Even Cooking

Even heat distribution is particularly important when cooking rice. By surrounding the inner bowl with heat and also applying heat from above, Panda's 3D heating technology helps promote more uniform cooking throughout the bowl.

This can help reduce differences in cooking between rice at the bottom and rice towards the top of the bowl, while also benefiting Panda's other cooking programmes.

The same principle is useful when using Panda for dishes such as porridge, slow cooking and cake baking, where consistent heat distribution can contribute to more even cooking.

Enhanced Keep-Warm Performance

Panda's 3D heating system also contributes to its superior keep-warm performance.

Rather than simply applying heat from the base, the heating system is designed to maintain a more evenly heated environment around the inner bowl. This helps Panda maintain cooked rice at an appropriate temperature while reducing the likelihood of uneven heating during the keep-warm period.

Conventional Heating with Advanced Heat Distribution

Although Panda uses a conventional heating element rather than induction heating, its 3D heating technology makes it considerably more advanced than a basic conventional rice cooker.

By combining the bottom heating element, reflective internal coating and heat from the lid, Panda creates a more evenly heated cooking environment designed to deliver consistently cooked rice and excellent results across its range of cooking functions.
