How does Sakura compare to other rice cooker brands?
We spent many months researching, designing and refining Sakura with one central goal in mind: to create a rice cooker that would appeal to people who genuinely love Asian food, while putting exceptional-tasting rice at the heart of the design.
We didn't want to create just another rice cooker. We wanted Sakura to combine excellent cooking performance, thoughtful design, premium materials and long-term reliability in a product that offered outstanding value for money.
Designed Down to the Smallest Detail
From the beginning, we decided that Sakura needed to do much more than simply cook rice.

We therefore paid meticulous attention to every component of Sakura.
This included the control panel, moulded exterior materials, inner cooking bowl, cooking technology, packaging and instruction manual. Each element was designed and refined with the same philosophy: customers should receive a premium-quality rice cooker that delivers excellent performance without having to pay unnecessarily inflated prices.
Manufactured in a Specialist Rice Cooker Factory
We also put considerable thought into selecting the factory that would manufacture Sakura.
The factory we chose also manufactures rice cookers for well-regarded brands such as Cuckoo, Cuchen and Tiger, giving us confidence in its experience, manufacturing capabilities and understanding of rice-cooking technology.
We work closely with our manufacturing partners and have our own specifications and quality requirements rather than simply selecting an existing mass-produced appliance.
Extensively Tested by Yum Asia
Before bringing Sakura to market, we extensively tested the cooker ourselves.
We didn't simply assess whether Sakura could technically cook rice. We wanted to know whether the rice it produced genuinely tasted as good as the rice produced by established premium rice cooker brands.
As part of our development and testing, we conducted blind taste tests with members of the Yum Asia team.
The results were extremely encouraging: we were all in agreement that the rice produced by Sakura was every bit as good as the rice produced by a Zojirushi rice cooker – and, in our opinion, potentially even better.
Of course, taste is subjective and everyone has their own preferences, but this testing gave us considerable confidence that Sakura could stand alongside the established premium rice cooker brands when it comes to the most important thing of all:
Great-tasting rice.
