Can I Remove The Silicone Seal On The Inner Lid Of A Kumo Rice Cooker?

The silicone seal on the Kumo rice cooker is factory-fixed to the stainless steel inner lid. It is specifically designed to remain attached during normal use and cleaning.

⚠️ Do Not Remove the Inner Lid or Silicone Seal

Neither the stainless steel inner lid nor the silicone seal should be removed from Kumo.

The silicone seal is glued/factory-fixed to the inner lid, so it should not be detached, peeled away or pulled off.

The seal is an integral part of Kumo's lid assembly and helps maintain the correct cooking environment inside the rice cooker.

How to Clean the Inner Lid

Cleaning the Kumo inner lid and seal is very simple.

You do not need to remove either component.

Simply:

  1. Allow Kumo to cool completely after use.

  2. Take a damp, clean paper towel or soft cloth.

  3. Gently wipe the stainless steel inner lid and silicone seal to remove any rice starch, moisture or food residue.

  4. If necessary, wipe again with a clean damp cloth.

  5. Allow the area to dry naturally before closing the lid.

Avoid pulling, stretching or attempting to separate the silicone seal from the stainless steel lid.

Keep the Seal Attached

The silicone seal has been permanently fitted during manufacture, so there is no reason to remove it for routine cleaning.

Factory-fixed seal → leave attached → wipe clean → dry → ready for use.

If you believe the seal has become damaged, detached or loose, do not attempt to repair or glue it yourself. Contact Yum Asia for advice so we can determine the appropriate solution.

Simple cleaning is all that's required: keep the inner lid and seal together and wipe them clean with a damp cloth.
