Why does my Oyu not dispense at exactly 100C?

It is incredibly difficult (even for conventional kettles) to achieve true 100C water. As soon as water is poured it rapidly starts losing some temperature even when not at 100C.

Oyu is made to dispense water at the correct drinking temperatures for most hot drinks (coffee, tea etc). With conventional kettles you normally don't drink as soon as poured so you wait some time before drinking. Oyu dispenses at perfect tea brewing temperatures which is in fact lower than 100C, it really comes down to personal preference.

With regards to optimal brewing or drinking temperatues - in the development of Oyu we found that most people preferred black tea to be brewed and drank at between 90-95C rather than the higher 90Cs. Likewise we found yellow tea preference to be between and 75-80C, green tea between 65-75C and so on.

 Perfect Drinking
Drinking your hot drinks without first having to wait for them to cool down a little (as you would after dispensing from a comventional kettle) does take some getting used to but once you realise you don't have to wait, you soon get used to perfect instant hot drinking!
